About Us

Our Story

Our journey began with one pharmacist’s observation of a painful reality: while Humla is home to resilient and hardworking communities, its healthcare system remains fragmented, under-resourced, and out of reach for many.

Founder Ratna Karki, a qualified pharmacist born and raised in the region, witnessed firsthand the consequences of inadequate healthcare—families traveling hours for basic medicine, mothers giving birth without skilled care, and chronic conditions going unmanaged until it was too late.

In 2023, what started as a personal commitment became a community-driven project. With input from local leaders, health workers, and families, we designed a model that doesn’t just treat illness but builds health resilience from the ground up.

We are more than a clinic. We are a movement for equitable health in Humla.

Our Mission

To provide accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare services to the people of Humla and the greater Karnali region through an integrated pharmacy and clinical care system. We are committed to improving community health by delivering safe medical treatment, promoting patient education, and ensuring compassionate, professional care for all—especially the underserved.

Our Vision

To become a trusted and sustainable healthcare hub in Karnali Province that transforms community health outcomes through modern medical practices, innovation, and inclusive care. We envision a future where every individual, regardless of location or income, has equal access to reliable healthcare services and health education.

Ratna Karki: A Pharmacist with a Purpose

Ratna Karki is a registered pharmacist with deep roots in Humla. His professional experience in Nepal’s healthcare sector revealed systemic gaps that disproportionately affect rural communities. Rather than waiting for change, he decided to create it.

“I believe healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. My goal is to bring dignity, access, and education to my community—one patient, one family, one village at a time.”

Ratna’s leadership is guided by local insight, clinical expertise, and unwavering compassion. He oversees all medical, operational, and community aspects of the project.
